The American Indian Museum at 1 Bowling Green it is in the Alexander Hamilton U.S. Customs House

The building was built  from 1902–1907. It is stunning.  I went for the lecture on Taino Indians, which was canceled. I decided to stay for the Horse Nation exhibit.

The sky light in the rotunda is amazing. That’s where the American Historical Tours met, they kindly invited me to tag along. They had just completed a tour of the building and were heading in to the horse exhibit.

Framing the skylight is oil paintings of ships, liners, and people entering and leaving New York Cities ports.

Beaux-Arts style

This is the coat room, an stunning crystal chandelier and painting of the desert camels and all!
